This is an 8 mile hike with 2,000 in gain on the North side of Mt Hood. There should be plenty of wildflowers and views of several major peaks in addition to Mt Hood.
We Will be following a trail under a forest canopy up to Lower Twin Lake for a rest stop and snack. Then continue on to the Upper Twin Lake where there is a beautiful lunch spot overlooking the Lake. afterwards we will go around the lake and return to our cars.
This is an 7 mile hike with 1,400‘ in elevation gain in the woods to Burnt.
Early Start- 9:15 meetup, 9:30am leave. This a remarkably diverse 222-acre wildlife preserve with wetlands, forests and streams that are habitat to insects, amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals. The trails are well maintained and there‘s little elevation.

We need a leader for a paddle this Thursday, August 7th. If you are interested in paddling this week, you could lead a trip. Contact Ron Stein at 206-747-0720 for posting a trip. All club members are permitted to lead day events.
This is an approximately 7 mile hike with 1,000‘ of gain to the beautiful Ramona Falls. The return trail takes us down the Muddy Fork creek, which is also very nice. The trail requires us to cross Sandy River, which historically has been doable.
This is a moderate hike down to and around Trillium Lake. The trail is a combination of some paved, dirt and boadwalks. We will be in the trees most of the time with views of the lake and Mt. Hood.
The Trtek [sic] Trailhead to Chapman Landing segment of the Crown Zellerbach (Crown Z) Trail offers an easy stroll through lowland fields and marshes, with extensive birdwatching and wildlife viewing opportunities. It is 3.5-mile walk, 69’ elevation change on paved trails.
Come to play bridge. As usual, bring a one dollar bill for the pot, beverage of your choice, and snack to share, if you like.

It is an easy hike on paved and dirt trails, mostly through the forest. The beginning and end is through a grassy meadow and in full sun. We will visit serval historical sites along the way.
We will hike for two hours in the Champoeg State Heritage Area with a rare combination of history, nature, and recreation. Situated about 30 minutes south of Portland, along the scenic Willamette River, its forests, fields, and wetlands recreate the landscape of a bygone era.

It is an easy flat trail through a beautiful forest. The Trail will be paved, dirt and boardwalks passing ponds and a creek. Watch for wildlife.
